A1 Masonry is run by Jon Paul, on the tools since 1999 and trading on his own for the last five years. Every job is his own hands, from setting out to the last joint pointed.
The work is mostly sandstone, the heritage and conservation kind that wants matching, dressing and a feel for how old walls were built. New stone too, when the build calls for it.
Jon Paul matched the sandstone on our tenement so well you cannot tell where the old stops and the new starts. Tidy worker and no fuss.
Rebuilt our front boundary wall after a car went through it. Looks better than it did before. Proper old-school stonework.
We needed lime repointing on a listed church and A1 were one of the few who actually knew the right mix. Careful, patient work.
New stone porch on the front of the house and a carved surround to match the originals. Cracking job, kept us right the whole way.
